Medical Students

The group of medical students who are using face-book media to post pictures of themselves goofing around with skeleton heads and arms and under the influence of  alcohol, obviously they are not setting a good precedence  for themselves or their future! They have worked so hard and come so far to be spending time jeopardizing themselves and their education, especially in a profession where people lives literally depend on the doctor's judgement and decisions. Several years ago I was at a funeral of a police officer, good family friends. Anyway, at the brunch after the funeral I sat at a table with all undercover cops they had quite a story about a medical student who attended the University of Rochester. Here it goes, the medical student took over a vacant house in the city and started growing marijuana plants in the house, each floor had a stage for the plants. How these undercover officers became aware of this, was the water was left running  and the neighbor called the police. Once the police arrived and saw the" goings on" they realized a steak out was necessary to find out who was behind this ordeal. They kept watch and as they kept watch only one young male in his early twenties kept checking out the house with the plants!  When they had enough evidence in the watch they were able to bring him downtown! He made bail and the case went to trial. In the end because he had no criminal record and was using the money to help pay for college the judge fined him monetarily and with community service.  I believe he was able to continue with his education. And if he moves to the right state to practice medicine he will already be very aware of using marijuana as a treatment. Great story!
